Hi Paul Michael,
Your first submission is very pleasant to the ear although its not clear to me where the harmonic construction reflects the assigned material. Perhaps this is because I am not finding your harmonic usages written out. For example your second measure is labled as "d" but it is not clear to me where the pyramid is. This isnt to say that these things dont exist in your compositional process, its merely to say that I dont hear nor see them very clearly. Part of that might be due to the fact that you chose a trio to present harmonic material that tends to be very thick.
Your serial melodies are interesting as well but Im wondering why you didnt compose for anything other than a solo instrument. It would have been interesting for me to see how you apply serial concepts to harmonic contexts. Similarly, without a detailed annotation of your matrix usages, even the melody is a bit difficult for me to decipher.
