Excellent compositions. The long piece nicely incorporated the material from class (with the exception of the mirrors) in a composition that was very well crafted. For the first time in these pieces It is clear to me that you have reached a very strong place as a composer and are not simply refashioning what your ears have previously been exposed to. I was wondering if you would arrive there and I am happy to see that you have. I am also very pleased to see how you have implemented your harmonic usage in the long piece. It came together very well and lent itself to very solid harmonic statements.
The serial piece I thought could have had a bit more motivic glue although for what it was, it was very good. It certainly had more of an air of underscore than a self contained composition. Keep that in mind as underscoring (ie music for the sake of something other than itself) may become an important part of your life if you continue.
