In this exercise I really tried to bring out the feeling of the Double Harmonic synthetic key, the trumpet sound is a little rough, and I obviously disregarded the actual assignment directions for the orchestration. However, I really think that this combination of cellos and trumpet worked well.

This one, I played around with the time signature to really make it feel as if you weren't in any key. I really wanted to make my synthetic key clear to the listener.

(Homework 3 in this section I had a bit of trouble with since the Web Notes said not to make the tonal center so obvious. I jumped around with seconds and thirds pretty much the entire time and I use some chromaticism/accidentals but I think I need more practice with free triads)

Class Work

This is just class work from last week that I really enjoyed so I decided to orchestrate it and let everyone listen to it. The piece just felt like majestic church chords, so in order to make really grounded, full sounding chords I used double basses and cellos with flutes on top to give it a real 3-Dimensional sound to it and really give this piece some color and meaning.
